Damn That Garlic Press!

Everyone knowes that I love to cook!  That I love food! So being here in a new country with new foods I am in heaven, trying new things, buying new things...both loving and hating new things! I have been embracing my newly found Schwabisch and Bavarian roots and creating such dishes as weisswurst, zwiebelrostbraten, schnitzel, and maultaschen! I have been doing ok with buying items that I dont even really know what they are for eg. flour 405 vs. flour 505! However, the one thing that is really stumping my cooking here in Germany is garlic and the damn garlic press! Yes I am a prima donna I am use to my garlic in a jar of olive oil sitting on shelf, and yes I am use to just spooning into a pan! Now there is all this work involved in cooking...peeling, chopping, pressing! YUCK! I think I actually am heavily involved in a love/hate relationship with my garlic press!
